Homemade Beef Jerky

This delicious beef jerky recipe will have you coming back for more and more. We like to use our food dehydrator to cook the jerky. However, it is easily done in the oven as well. We always make a big batch of it and vacuum seal it for fresh-keeping.  It’s perfect for snacking on the trail, at camp, or a protein burst in your daily life!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef
  • ½ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • other seasonings or flavors for taste

Directions

  1. Trim all far from meat. Cut ¼ inch thick strips diagonal with the grain.
  2. Combine seasonings and sauces, stir until dissolved.
  3. Add meat strips and refrigerate overnight covered. The meat will absorb most of the liquid.
  4. Dehydrate in dehydrator for 4-8 hours at 165 degrees OR bake directly on oven rack for 4-8 hours at 200 degrees. Place aluminum foil or cookie sheets on bottom of oven to collect drippings from meat.
  5. Cool jerky and store in airtight container or vacuum seal for freshness.
